Customs inspection of frozen cold-water fish to export
Through the inspection and quarantine by Xining Customs, a batch of frozen cold-water fish, worth 938,100 yuan, was exported to Russia from Qinghai Province on September 14. The fish producer was Qinghai Minze Longyangxia Ecological Aquaculture Company LTD., whose foreign trade volume plummeted over the first half year because Russia banned importing aquatic products from China in January along with COVID-19 pandemic spread.
When being informed of the Company’s plight, Xining Customs actively provided help and sought state support from the GACC. Through joint efforts of GACC and the Customs, the Russian side finally listed the Company as a qualified aquatic product supplier within Eurasian Economic Union, meaning the Company’s resumption of exporting cold-water fish to Russia. Additionally, with the help of the Customs, the Company also won export qualifications to South Korea, EU, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
Moreover, Xining Customs keeps in-depth supervision over the Company’s food safety protection system in line with quality requirements of the importing countries/regions so as to ensure foreign recognition of Qinghai cold-water fish. The Customs also collaborates with local government agencies in offering policy preferences and market access for the Company.
By statistics, from January till August, exports of Qinghai cold-water fish totaled 37.594 million yuan in value, an increase of 140% year-on-year.
