Recently in Ningbo Customs District, an import of waste polyester flakes, totaling 117 tons in 5 containers, was detained by Beilun Customs House as per China’s import ban.

The goods, imported from Malaysia, were declared as thin polyester spinning materials. Through sample inspection, the Customs confirmed that the materials were made from broken waste plastic bottles, substandard in many indicators such as powder, impurity and residue, thus recognized as the solid waste prohibited from import.

So far, the waste has been put into further disposal.
