On November 6, “Super Star Virgo”, the first passenger liner in Guangdong Province, made its trial voyage from Nansha port, Guangzhou City to Hong Kong SAR, carrying about 1,000 people from all circles. Nansha Customs House (affiliated to Guangzhou Customs District) provided easier control for the trial voyage by setting a special service team, etc.

The Customs exercised control on the shore by setting up temporary facilities beside the berth and special entry-exit channels to inspect the ship, passengers and their luggage at lock entrance and alongside the ship through video monitoring and wharf patrol, thus reducing clearance time as much as possible.

A passenger on the trial trip said,“Before the trip, the Customs has coordinated with our travel agency to give us pamphlets, defining detailed requirements on prohibited items and currency carrying. They also guided us to fill in declaration forms in advance, thus saving us much time.”

Reportedly, from 2016 on, the “Super Star Virgo” liner will weekly berth at the third-phase wharf of Nansha port. This trial is significant for both Nansha water-tourism development and Guangzhou liner-port economic development.
