On March 7, Shantou Customs District cleared a shipment of 70,200 tons Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) from Australia into the port of Jieyang, marking the first LNG import in east Guangdong Province since the epidemic outbreak, which will timely supply gas for local households and enterprises.
On arrival of the ship, the officers of Jieyang Customs House immediately got on board for inspection and quarantine. They integrated the processes of health quarantine, risk control over hazardous chemicals, LNG quality identification and follow-up supervision to increase examination and certification efficiency.
During the anti-epidemic period, Jieyang Customs House provided tailor-made supports for CNOOC Yuedong LNG Co., Ltd. by understanding its import plans in advance, making sufficient risk analysis, and offering an expeditious approach for onboard quarantine and control. Besides, the Customs opened a green lane with such services as “advance declaration” and “5+2 reservation” for the Company.
