On September 4, the Ministry of Finance, GACC and State Taxation Administration jointly announced the exemptions from import duties, import VAT and consumption tax on import exhibits sold in 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) and, accordingly, Beijing Customs issued the guideline for tax concession policy in support of CIFTIS.
Reportedly, these tax exemptions were given to the exhibits worth not more than 20,000 US dollars and some of pricier commodities, with USA-made products free from additional duties.
Beijing Customs provided many conveniences for the CIFTIS event, including streamlined documentation and procedures in a tax-free green lane as well as a panel of experts on tax reliefs, commodity classification, price appraisal, certification of origin, etc. to facilitate the clearance.
