In Chongqing Customs District, an outbound batch of fresh flowers cleared customs at Jiangbei International Airport on August 10. This batch of flower products including roses, carnations, lilies and chrysanthemums, totaling 52,000 pieces worth 25,000 US dollars, were made in Yunnan Province and transited from Kunming Customs District to Chongqing for their export.
During the anti-pandemic period, all countries/regions have higher quarantine requirements on import fresh flowers. Earlier, Chongqing Customs and Kunming Customs jointly made the measures to support flower enterprises in business resumption. Accordingly, Jiangbei Airport Customs House set up a long-term collaboration mechanism with Kunming Airport Customs to achieve mutual exchange and assistance. They jointly made quarantine and control measures, including advance declaration by online remote processing, to ensure efficient cross-customs transit, and they kept in touch with the exporter and airport agencies to master cargo status and transport routes, so as to facilitate the clearance process.
At Jiangbei Airport, a special fast track was opened for the flower inspection upon arrival; in the parking apron, it only took 20 minutes for the export flowers to clear customs. The smooth clearance signaled the close cooperation between the two customs districts as a good demonstration for “West China’s New Land-Sea Corridor” clearance integration.
